Europe attractions and transportation offers? The Fondation Louis Vuitton’s 11 ultra-sleek galleries opened in the Bois de Boulogne in 2014. Since then, Frank Gehry’s astonishing building has played host to a rotating programme of shows by high-profile modern and contemporary artists. One of the more risque contenders on the Parisian cabaret scene, the art du nu of Le Crazy Horse was pioneered by Alain Bernadin in the 1950s, and still pulls in punters aplenty. It remains dedicated to all things feminine and sexy: lookalike dancers with curious stage names like Enny Gmatic and Hippy Bang Bang all bear the same bodily dimensions. (When standing, the girls’ nipples and hips are all the same height – it’s a requirement.) Expect lots of rainbow-hued light and artfully located strips of black tape. Old-school, self-respecting cabaret.
Meandering streets connecting stone houses in a small marina to form a charming town with breathtaking sweeping views of the Adriatic Sea – Bol is one of the top places to visit in Croatia. It is where the iconic shape-shifting pebble beach called the Zlatni Rat beach resides. The beach protrudes out into the sea and changes shape as and when the wind changes. The beach offers plenty of water activities like sunbathing, swimming, windsurfing, and more… And the charming promenade lined with trees running between the town and beach at Bol makes Croatia travel a lifetime’s experience.
Incorporating the deltas of the Rhine, the Maas, and the Schelde Rivers, Zeeland includes the numerous islands and peninsulas of the southwestern section of the Netherlands. Much of this area of recently formed land is below sea level and therefore reliant upon impressive dikes, as well as modern flood prevention techniques. As you travel the area, you’ll see evidence of the mega-engineering project known as the Delta Works. These massive structures – basically hi-tech dams – can control how much water enters the area’s key estuaries from the North Sea. Consisting of dams, sluices, locks, dikes, and storm-surge barriers, this awe-inspiring US$7 billion project has been declared one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World.
