Trei Amici Games launches Too Many Turtles: The Card Game? Too Many Turtles is a tactical point builder card game in which two players fight over the course of up to 3 rounds to create the most valuable army of turtles that they can. The player with the highest amount of points at the end of the round wins and the game goes to the first player to win 2 out of 3 rounds. In our base set, you will find two pre-built decks of cards made to play against each other. On one side, you have Turtron: The Legendary Defender, a giant robotic turtle from outer space that has come to earth. He and his army of hatchlings are trying to combat the devastating effects mankind is having on turtles and the environment using a variety of effect cards like Shell Restoration and Environmental Clean Up.
Now a little info about real world turtle issues. WildAid. WildAid is a large humanitarian nonprofit organization dedicated to helping all animals that are threatened by humans on a large scale. Their work with turtles is focused very directly on sea turtles, where 6 out of 7 species are in critical danger of extinction in the near future. Wild Aid has been working very closely with several government agencies in China to reduce the toll taken on turtle populations from Chinese consumers who use sea turtles for jewelry, instruments, and homeopathic medicines.
As a rule, you are only allowed to move one turtle, one row per turn. Sorry, we didn’t make the rules! Well, actually we did, but turtles are notoriously slow. That’s a rule we didn’t make. Have no fear though, there are ways you can ensure your turtles make it to the top of your field for maximum points! The first way you may be able to move more is if your turtle has a specific effect that adjusts movement. Turtle Cards including Abnormally Speedy Sid (Pictured Right, Can be summoned into the middle row), and The Amputurtle (Can move twice in one turn), can make their way to the top faster. Other cards such as Hubert the Penta Island Tortoise can’t be moved under their own power.See additional details at Trei Amici Games.
Not all turtles have effects. You might notice some of our common turtles are simply just named after real life common turtles (Like Cletus, The Eastern River Cooter). These turtles are identifiable by the turtle facts in place of any effects. Don’t worry though! These guys are still useful to your strategy! A good leader never underestimates his turtles! The guys at Trei Amici Games (TAG) and their amazing partners at the non-profit organization SEE Turtles proudly presents Too Many Turtles; a game to help save turtles and have fun doing it!
The Impact: Luckily for all of you amazing people reading this, the three of us aren’t quite smart enough to believe we can’t change the world. With your help though, we might be smart enough to pull it off! We chose SEE Turtles as our Non-Profit Partner because they work around the world to defend turtle hatchlings from danger so they can thrive. We need to take action before Sea Turtles go extinct. So, for every pack we sell, we pledge to save (at least) 50 hatchlings with the help of SEE Turtles. Once we realized the danger posed to turtle populations worldwide by human activity, we realized it was our responsibility to do something to help. We believe a game can change the world and we’re going to prove it! Find additional details at www.treiamicigames.com.
